Aufgrund der aktuellen Lage wird der Workshop digital durchgeführt. Der Workshop ist für alle gratis und ein Geschenk an die Tanzschaffenden in schwierigen Zeiten.
Bei Interesse bitte melden:
During the Tanzfestival Winterthur Nicole Seiler will hold a workshop for professional dancers.
tiw offers 10 scholarship for this 15 hour workshop.
The workshop will always start with a warm up. I will use different ways for warming up according to what I usually do with the dancers of my company. This can be some yoga based movement work or different improvisation based warm ups. I will not teach dance technique classes.
In the second part of the workshop we will work around different concepts and ideas based on different productions of my company. These topics will include the relationship between movement and sound, movement descriptions, working on memory and on perception, but also working with the voice combined with the moving body. I am also open for requests during the workshops – let’s see where we go together.
Born in 1970 in Zurich, Nicole Seiler studied dance and theater at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Verscio (CH), the Vlaamse Dansacadamie in Bruges (BE) and at Rudra Béjart in Lausanne (CH). As a performer she collaborated in the creation of numerous works with companies such as Cie Buissonnière (Philippe Lizon), le Teatro Malandro (Omar Porras), Allias Compagnie (Guilherme Botelho), Cie Philippe Saire, Massimo Furlan as well as other companies abroad.
Nicole Seiler created her company in 2002. Her artistic approach is largely focused on the relationship between image and video. Her research into video and choreography has led to the creation of innovative works, dance and multimedia, videos, choreographic installations, performances and site-specific works that aim to keep the audience active in their interpretation of the work. Since 2010 her research focuses mainly on the relationship between image and sound and led her to explore the description of movement, from both a historical and personal point of view, but also more generally to question how image and sound connect in our memories.
Since 2004 the company tours internationally.
